Who controls this data

Error and performance monitoring

Stay Eventful uses Sentry to capture anonymised diagnostic data — error reports and page performance timings — so that crashes and slow pages can be identified and fixed.

• IP address collection and storage are disabled at the project level, and a scrubbing rule additionally strips any IP-derived location data before storage.
• No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
• Only non-sensitive data is forwarded: error slugs, performance timings, page categories, and ISO date references.
• Sentry stores and processes this data on its own infrastructure, in the EU. See the Sentry Data Processing Addendum for full details of how Sentry handles data submitted by sites like Stay Eventful.
• Sentry retains error events for up to 30 days on the plan Stay Eventful uses, after which they are deleted automatically.

Product analytics

Stay Eventful uses Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool, to understand which destinations and matches people find useful — for example page views and outbound ticket-link clicks.

• It is cookieless and sets no persistent tracking identifiers, so no cookie consent banner is required.
• No names, emails, or other directly identifying information are collected. Recorded data includes the page URL, referrer, browser, operating system, device, screen size, language, and a country/region/city derived from your IP address. Ad-click identifiers (for example from a Facebook or Google ad) are stripped from the URL before it is stored; campaign source parameters are kept so we can tell which channels bring visitors.
• Umami stores and processes this data on its own infrastructure, in the EU. See the Umami Data Processing Agreement for full details of how Umami handles data submitted by sites like Stay Eventful.
• Umami retains analytics data for 6 months on the plan Stay Eventful uses, after which it is deleted automatically.

Legal basis for processing

Both Sentry and Umami are used on the basis of legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the site working, fixing errors, and understanding which destinations are useful. Neither tool collects your name, email, or other directly identifying information, and both are cookieless, so no consent banner is required for this processing.

International data transfers

Sentry is operated by Functional Software, Inc., based in the United States. Stay Eventful's Sentry project stores and processes data in the EU (Germany). Transfers outside the EEA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Umami Cloud is operated by Umami Software, Inc., based in the United States. Stay Eventful's Umami account is set to the EU region.

Your rights

Because the data collected is anonymised, most requests will have limited effect since no individual can be identified in it. Where data protection law applies to you, you have the right to ask for access to, or deletion of, any data that can be linked to you, and the right to complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence if you believe your data has been mishandled. Cookies and tracking

Stay Eventful does not use advertising cookies or persistent tracking identifiers. Both the error monitoring (Sentry) and product analytics (Umami) above are cookieless — neither sets anything in your browser — so no cookie consent banner is required.

If any analytics tool that sets persistent identifiers is introduced in the future, a GDPR-compliant consent mechanism will be in place before it is enabled.
